Big girls without trainers...

We had a short break at Poppy's over the weekend, one which was much deserved for the whole family. Some R & R with some special family time with Poppy for Father's Day. The girls were most excited to be taking their bikes as Daddy had promised to teach them how to ride their bikes without training wheels! It didn't take much on the teaching side as they took to it so quickly & with the soft fall of lush green grass on the farm it was even enjoyable to take a tumble every now & then. Although middle Miss came off worst for wear at one stage going full speed into the wood stack, turning was her next lesson! Our little spud enjoyed the freedom of the farm & thought the cows were hysterical, you'd have thought she was a city kid. Big girl had the most fun during a flash electrical storm, with thunder lightening & even some hail that fell so heavily it nearly looked like snow. We even received the most beautiful rainbow after the storm which middle Miss thought was most magical & Big girl then had something to talk about for show & tell the coming week.

We're now on Sale ...

We're on Etsy. I have finally mastered how to minimise my pictures & list on Etsy! I would like to say a HUGE thank you to Karin who purchased a Mum's Business within 1 hour of me putting on my first listing, what a soul booster you are! I have been madly printing off copies & compiling Mum's Business folders as we're into Market season & already have the end of Octoder filled in with exciting places to visit in order to release my little baby. Will keep you posted as to where we'll be once everything is confirmed! Here's a few more page previews for you to see what's in Mum's Business & hopefully wet the taste buds! Web site is moving slowly more from lack of time to sit down & map what goes where from me, but alas I feel the need to spend some valuable hours with my three humans who call me Mum... & who I adaore. x

Mum's Business Folder Sneak Peak!

It's getting closer & closer & closer...... feeling a little anxious about letting the world see what I can do but also very excited at the same time! Hopefully we'll start with a stall at the Oxley Market on the 31st October, & then Mathilda's Market on 22nd November & then web site will be realeased not long after or there abouts. I am getting stocks built for the mad Christmas rush (which I can only hope will happen) but who knows. Have added a few more pages over the past few weeks & also calendar options, either a general weekly planner or a family planner. Have also a monthly calendar produced for quick reference & am working on a week to 2 pages that will be used like a standard diary. So here's a pre-release sneak peak of the cover for all my loyal followers.

Big girl turns 6!

I can't believe that my big girl turned 6 this week, she's had a lovely birthday & received so much from family & friends including the Hannah Montana CD from her little sister. We're planning a trip to the snow this weekend with her BB's but the weather isn't looking great so we may have to settle for lunch somewhere cosy! Happy Birthday Big Girl I'm so proud of you. x

To market... maybe not!

We didn't make it to the market this weekend as the weather was miserable so here's what I was going to sell still hanging in my dining room ready for the next opportunity ...

This is beyond special....

Have only seen snippets of this until this morning & it's left me in tears. Not only with laughter but also out of the sheer joy that something so simple can express. With all the trying times that are happening in relationships these days, with work, family & general life pressures on us it is so nice to see that we really should be celebrating the special times, loving & laughing together. Sometimes it takes a little video vision into someone elses happiness for us to appreciate our own & to make us smile & love again with gusto at the same time!

Pumpkin Sauce....Mmmm Mmmmm

This was what we had for dinner tonight & can I tell you the sauce was sensational, will go with so many things & Ohhh so easy!

Corned silverside with
mustard pumpkin sauce

INGREDIENTS
1 piece of corned silverside (corned beef)
1 bay leaf
2 tbsp brown sugar
1 onion
few cloves
mashed potato and green beans to serve
Mustard pumpkin sauce
1 tbsp olive oil
1 onion, finely chopped
2½ cups cubed pumpkin pieces
2 tsp brown sugar
2 cups chicken stock
½ cup cream
1 tbsp mild english mustard
Rinse the corned silverside in cold water before cooking to remove any
surface brine.
Place the silverside in a heavy-based pot large enough for the meat to
be submersed in water. Cover the silverside with cold water.
Place over a low heat. Skim away scum that rises to the surface. Once
the scum has been removed, add the aromatics such as a bay leaf,
brown sugar, onion and cloves.
Keep the heat at simmering point; small bubbles will occasionally rise to
the surface. Adjust the heat throughout the cooking time.
Cook until silverside is tender. As a guide corned meat takes about 25
to 30 minutes per 500g. A fork should easily penetrate to the centre of
the meat.
Serve corned silverside sliced with mustard pumpkin sauce, mashed
potato and steamed greens.
To make mustard pumpkin sauce: heat oil in a pan over a medium heat
and cook onion and pumpkin until onion is soft. Add sugar and cook
for one minute. Add chicken stock and simmer until pumpkin is soft.
Remove from heat, cool slightly and puree in a blender with cream and mustard.

Mum's Business

Have finally decided on a name for my new creation......Mum's Business! Do you like? Am also in the process of putting together my first editions ready for the local market in 10 days & counting. It's all so labour intensive at the moment but with a little practice I'm sure to fast track the process. Have on my list of things to do to set up my Etsy shop for online sales & also start putting together family planners for 2010 which really isn't that far away.

Amongst other things my big girl turns 6 in only 2 weeks today, a party at the snow is what's planned so am thinking up ideas for the party favours along that theme.

Three Potato Four

It's been a busy few weeks finally getting my ideas on paper for 'The Mummy Planner' or so it is called at the moment! Have printed off drafts for my 'mummy friends' to look over & help me nut out what needs to be in the planner & what we don't need.... along with that i've been sewing, scrapping & being Mum & wife! What do you think of the new business name for my new ' The Mummy Planner' venture????
